Sunny Ceramic Projects for Toddlers

Projects of the Day
Ceramic Self Portrait & Thumb print flower
Easy Slab projects

Start by pounding the clay into a flat slab. Kids love to pound the clay just as much as I do
Use thumb and repeat for the flower petals.
Then add center and 2 holes for hanging
When this is dry I will fire - then we will put colored glass into the "petals" I use the glass stones found at dollar store
I smash with a hammer and put ground glass  into each petal. This makes for a colorful glass window effect
I will post when fired.
Thumb print flower for mothers day

Self Portrait by Lucas

 For the Self Portrait
We pounded clay into a slab and then rolled balls of the eye's  & nose. Used a pencil and stabbed the eye balls and nose into the slab of clay.  We used some scraps for the toung and hair.  Lucas choose
where the eye's, nose, toung and hair were placed.  Lots of stabbing and pushing of clay.
I will post after it is fired and glazed
